REFLECTIONS

The responsibilities we all have can be, and most of the time, are overwhelming.  EVERYONE, however, feels the same way. You know as well as I do that patience is what is needed. At the Atlanta airport, I could have used more of that quality! Patience isn’t something you possess as much as it is that virtue which arises from inside who we “are”.

ABOUT OUR MUSIC TODAY

Our choral anthem is “Forever Lift Your Voice” and is an arrangement of a piece by Mozart.  Brandon Catt is leading the choir today.  Brandon is a music education student at the University of Illinois.  Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

 

 

BELL RINGERS WANTED!

Our handbell choir will be starting rehearsals on Wed. 8/29 from 6:30-7:30.  We always need new players.  Please contact Michelle Bahr for more information!

 

 

QUAD DAY COMING!

Help promote Urbana 1^st at Quad Day by keeping our church in prayer this Tuesday! We will have a booth at this year’s Quad Day to introduce students to our church and the opportunities for worship, fellowship, and mission we offer. Drop by to help spread the word, or to get a glimpse of what our church has to offer!

 

 

CLARK –LINDSEY VILLAGE CLOTHING SALE

The Meadowbrook Health Center Auxiliary is having a sale of good quality clothing and accessories at spectacularly low prices on Friday, August 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  There will be signs at the main entrance directing shoppers to the sale location in the Multi-Purpose Rooms on the lower floor.   Several members of our church family who are residents at Clark-Lindsey and Meadowbrook will benefit from the proceeds from the sale. 

 

 

UMW UNIT MEETING COMING UP

The United Methodist Women’s UNIT MEETING is Thursday, September 6^th.  We will meet at Cunningham Children’s Home in the new chapel at 10:30am. After the meeting, we plan to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  Hope you can join us.

ALL-CHURCH PICNIC AND RETREAT PLANNED FOR SEPT. 9

Be sure and mark your calendars so that you will be at Lake of the Woods shelter on Sunday afternoon, SEPT. 9^th, beginning at 1:00pm.  Our Outreach & Christian Education Directors, Erin and Melissa, have planned a wonderful afternoon of fun and fellowship for us. Watch for further details!
