(Sunday worship times listed below.)
Hi Friends at First UMC Urbana,
After moving up to Urbana in July, when I first met Pastor Steve, he had just been at FUMC-Urbana two weeks. And I was there the next couple Sundays for worship, but I have been making my rounds worshiping among the Body of Jesus including at on campus ministries including Wesley Foundation/Student Center where I am a new volunteer librarian as I have begun my MLIS studies at U of I.
But the main purpose of this email is to share these two sunset photos from my apartment a couple blocks due east of Lincoln Square, from which view from my window I see the top of the UMC-Urbana tower. The tower has become a symbol for me for a spiritual haven, a point drawing my spirit up to our eternal home with Jesus in His glorious Kingdom. Joining this thought and experience to have seen several beautiful sunsets since I moved here from FL where I also saw many beautiful sunsets, is a combined reminder of God’s enduring presence, mercy, and care. The photos would be even nicer without the wires/power lines.
Therefore, since I have been blessed by this, I wanted to share it with you too.
Always a seat for you…
